CULTURE, ARTS AND TOURISM

Burkina Faso is well known as an open country of hospitality host of several international cultural events whereof the most famous are: the FESPACO (Pan-African Cinema and Television Festival of Ouagadougou), which takes place odd years, the SIAO (International Arts and Crafts Show of Ouagadougou), organized even years.

There are also the FITMO (International Festival of the Theater and the Puppets of Ouagadougou), the FITD (International Festival of the Theater for Development), the FILO (International books Fair) and many others cultural events.

One of the main patterns of the “Country of the Upright People” is, undoubtedly, the people’s fondness for culture, art and traditions. It is not certainly by coincidence that the country has been hosting the continent’s most prominent and international cultural events (Click here to view culture, arts and tourism  in-depth).

The country has a good standing hotels network. Abundant excursions opportunities and sights-seeing are available including: the Peak of Sindou and the famous Waterfalls of Leraba in the West, the Pond of Oursi in the North surrounded by sand dunes and populated by large flock of aquatic birds and the crocodile ponds of Sabou and Bazoule in the central area.
